In-Home Massage Therapy for Los Angeles

PAMELA ST. JEAN, LMT NATIONALLY CERTIFIED MASSAGE THERAPIST 323.823.1694

  • What To Expect

When a massage therapist comes to your home they will bring all the supplies, including a professional massage table. Here are a few things you will need to do to help you prepare:

~ The therapist will supply the linens and oils. Some clients prefer to use their own, if so have your own linens ready to go. A twin sheet set is ideal but any size is fine. Have a throw blanket and extra towels nearby. Never use your best linens because they will get a little oil on them- if washed promptly the oils will not stain.

~ Have enough space for the massage therapist to adeptly move around the table. The massage table is 6.5 by 2.5 feet. Please have the space ready and furniture moved by the time the therapist arrives.

~ Provide a cool area for the massage therapist to work in. Air conditioning is a must in the summer and please don't blast your heat in the winter. While the therapist works you will be fully covered and warm at all times.

~ Create a relaxing atmosphere. Dim lights, play soothing music, light candles. Make sure you are comfortable. It's best to have a massage away from noises, pets, people, children, and work. Remember to turn off your phone. Breath.

Only the best organic, hand blended, aromatherapy oils used during your massage. Please feel free to leave the oils on your body for as long as possible to maximize their nourishing benefits.

Most clients remove all of their clothing although, it is ok to leave underwear on if it makes you feel more comfortable. Your private areas will be covered at all times by the linens as well as parts of the body that are not immediately being massaged. You will not be exposed at any time. You will have complete privacy to undress and dress while the therapist washes their hands in your bathroom.

It always takes a few minutes to set up and break down the massage table. Please allow yourself extra time in your day. Before and after the massage you should relax, maybe take a hot bath or shower, rest, and drink plenty of water. Breath.

Alcohol can dehydrate and make you ill- please refrain from drinking it before or directly after any bodywork.

The areas of the body that the therapist may massage include: head, face, neck, décolleté, back, arms, legs, stomach, gluteus, and feet. At no time will private areas be touched. Please let your therapist know any areas you would like them to avoid or focus on. We're here to make you comfortable.

Always be sure to let your therapist know of any and all medical conditions (diabetes, injury, pregnancy, infection) you may have that need special attention or may be contraindicated for certain techniques of bodywork. If you are sick, even with a minor cold, or have infection, inflammation, or sunburn- massage is not to be performed. Please let your therapist know right away so you can reschedule your appointment.

Although it is customary to tip your massage therapist 15-20% it is appreciated and not expected.
